Step 1
Insert your crochet hook through the first stitch on the edge of your piece, pull your yarn through and make 1 chain stitch.
Step 2
Make 1 single crochet in the same spot.
Step 3
Next, work 2 chain stitches.
Step 4
Work 1 single crochet stitch into the following stitch. The 2 chain stitches you previously worked will form a little bump, which is the picot edge.
Step 5
Repeat this process: 1 single crochet stitch, 2 chains stitches, and then another single crochet stitch into the next stitch.
Step 6
Repeat until you have completed your picot edge.
