Step 1

Because everyone loves bubbles… This stitch pattern uses the knit 4 stitches below technique to create the bubble pattern. It is worked over a multiple of 4 stitches plus 3 edge stitches and a repeat of 12 rows.

Step 2

Starting with a purl (wrong side) row, work 5 rows in stocking stitch, so that’s a purl row, a knit row, a purl row, another knit row and a final purl row.

Step 3

Now you’re going to work your first pattern row. Knit 3 stitches, then knit the next stitch 4 rows below. To do this, slip the next stitch off the needle, then carefully unravel it until you have 4 ladders, push the stitch until it sits behind the bottom of the ladders, then insert the right needle back into the stitch below all of the ladders, then knit it as if it is a normal knit stitch.

Knit 3 stitches. These 4 stitches make up the pattern repeat.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 to the end of the row.
