This stitch is reversible, so both sides of your piece will look the same!

This stitch must be worked with a starting foundation row of single crochet stitches. We are using a chain of 20 stitches.

Chain 1. This is a variation of single crochet, so it will always have a turning chain of 1 stitch.

Instead of inserting your hook into the horizontal V as normal, insert your hook between the 2 vertical bars of the stitch.

Then, pull your yarn through and complete as a normal single crochet stitch. It’s important to not pull your yarn too tightly.

Again, insert your hook between the vertical bars of the next stitch.

Then pull your yarn through and complete as a normal single crochet stitch.

Do this to the end of row.

Chain 1 and work your second row exactly the same way you worked your first row, through the two vertical bars.
